David asks Ellen about her lover because he notices she's got another date. Ellen calls on Lorraine, who is terribly sick. And what an interesting true story it is as we have Ellen becoming suspicious that not only did David kill Lorraine but is also behind the sickness which has plagued her for years. Detective Rick Mauser Lawrence Dane talks with her. Graham is also worried about the deteriorating state of Lorraine, so he calls Ellen.
At this point, Ellen starts to become concerned for her health and pleads with her ex-husband to seek help for Lorraine, as he did, to find out the cause of her illness. David says that Ellen is crazy. Till Death do you Part Despite having been divorced for 14 years Ellen Farris is still on quite good terms with David her ex husband and also his new wife Lorraine Megan Gallagher. The coroner doesn't find any cause of her death. He says that she had stored the information on her computer but it was deleted by the police.
The pathologist initially is not able to find any signs of foul play except the faint smell of chlorine when he opened her up during autopsy. He tries to defend himself to the jury after attempting to poison his lawyer. He, in turn, talks to David, who is about to sell the house. Hodges questions him about the computer files where he expresses his jealousy. Ellen gives a barbecue for Sarah, Danielle and Graham. Danielle eats some chicken which was at her home's fridge, but apparently nobody from Ellen's household had bought it.
There was salmonella in it, which sends Danielle to hospital. However, David tells Ellen not to tell Lorraine anything. Mauser investigates a gold company which David had shares in. Soon afterwards, Lorraine gets sick again. It was also revealed that Lorraine died of cyanide poisoning, to which he switched after Mexico to speed up the effects of selenium i. Ellen has gone to twenty six different doctors throughout the years. David has married again, to ambitious politician Lorraine Farris Megan Gallagher.
Ellen is a good mother and resents David telling her what to do. Catherine is amazed at how civil Ellen is towards David. David asks Ellen to take care of his son with Lorraine, Graham Miko Hughes. John Hodges Michael Anthony Rawlins joins the team. Well that and a good performance from John Ritter as David who's behaviour and general attitude comes across as quietly threatening. To prove her suspicions, his ex-wife Helgenberger becomes determined to reveal David's sinister side by any means possible. The coroner doesn't find any cause of her death.
She passes out as if she were drunk. She wins an election and gives him money. David says that Ellen is crazy. The police arrive at David's house deletes several documents from his computer. Ellen feels terrible all the time; she forgets everything and is always tired.
David phones Ellen to tell her that he is going to take Graham and Lorraine to a hospital in Mexico which is very quiet; without phones or an internet connection. There is a real sense of whether or not David will get away with it and it is that rather than how and why which keeps you watching. There is also selenium on the coffee tin. David's lawyer says it was the remains of a product used in that Mexico clinic. Selenium had been found in Ellen's liver tests.
